I am going to be interviewing Brian J. Smith.  The questions can be about Stargate Universe, Red Faction: Origins, the play he was just finished in New York City "Little Black Dress", his time as a student at Juliard, etc.  I know you must have questions that you would like answered so post them below.  The deadline for questions is July 14th.

I wrote this one week after the events of September 11th, when I was 9 years old, and published in the local newspaper, The Cape May Gazette, Cape May, NJ.

September 11 or 9-11

All morning at school I wrote 9-11 at the top corner of all my papers. It seemed like any other day, but it wasn’t. In school, we knew nothing about what was happening in the world. At noon, my mom picked me up from school. I thought that I had a doctor appointment that I had forgotten about. When I got to the school office my mom said that we were going to meet dad for lunch. I thought that it was odd that mom was taking me out of school to have lunch with dad. In the car, mom told me of the tragic events that had just happened. My mom and dad wanted to be with me, to explain what was happening. They knew that they couldn’t hide this from me. On the TV, it was on every channel. On the radio, it was on every station. It was on the front of every newspaper. What happened is so sad, so senseless.

When I think of 911, I think of an emergency. When I think of 9-11, I think of the ultimate emergency. From now on, when someone is talking about a 911 emergency, I will think of that day, 9-11.

I hope what happened will never happen again. I hope when my generation is grown up, that we will live in a world without hate.
